Remember the word “fun”?  It’s why most of you got into this business in the first place.  Somehow, too many people, not just in the photographic industry, but everywhere, lost their “edge”.  We’ve all been so wrapped up in the challenges today we forgot about having fun.

A few weeks ago, for the first time in history Pictage opened their Partner Conference to the public.  If you’ve never gone, then you probably don’t understand the significance of this year’s change in policy.   This is a huge opportunity for professional photographers to do some fine-tuning and regain their edge .    I spoke at Partner Con four years ago and was blown away by the sense of community, the enthusiasm of the players involved and especially the talent presenting.

A few posts back I talked about the importance of attending as many conferences as you can afford.  Well, here’s one on the list you need to attend.   The price is right, the location is New Orleans and the line up of talent  to help you find new ways to put “fun” back in your vocabulary is amazing.      There are at least FIFTY different speakers/photographers involved in presentations/workshops at this year’s Partner Conference.   If you can get away in early November, New Orleans is going to be the place to be!

I could have saved myself three paragraphs this morning because the tag line for the conference says it all, Dream, Create, Inspire.
