As everyone enjoys the week between the holidays and starts to think about their New Year’s resolutions, too often broken before you wake up on January 1, here are some suggestions:

1) For every really really big (notice the grammatically incorrect use of “double reallys” to emphasize the point!) resolution put a little one out there.  This will balance the effort to support the big challenges you want to take on with little no brainers that are achievable.

2) Keep your biz resolutions and your personal resolutions separate.  Sure you want to drop some weight, but what’s that got to do with doing a better job on marketing?

3) Here’s a big one from my personal list.   I actually started this last year and kept it up – I’m keeping it in place for the new year. Talk to more friends more often.   I love social media.  I love the Internet, but I’m sick of not hearing the voices of good friends and love picking up the phone now and then instead of writing something.  An email just doesn’t cut it when it comes to catching up.

4) I’m starting a campaign to get everyone to have the same core resolution for the new year:  Just be happy and enjoy the moment.  It’s pretty simple – laugh more, love more and laugh and love more often.

Okay, that’s four of my suggestions – and just the right length for the Saturday morning before New Year’s Eve.  If you’ve got a few of your own suggestions feel free to send them in and they might just get published!

Happy last week of 2009!
