Sunday Morning Reflections: Kitchen Magnet Wisdom
Not sure where this came from. Sheila found it going through some papers and it still has a couple of thumb tack holes from being on a bulletin board some time in her past, but it’s perfect for a Sunday morning and kind of fits with the season…
Anyway
People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Do good anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.
People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs. Fight for some underdogs anyway.
What you spend a year building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you help them. Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you may get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you’ve got ANYWAY
This almost sounds like it was written by a troll who in a weak moment decided to come over to the side of optimism! I’ll gladly give the author credit if anyone knows who wrote it. For now, it’s simply a great thought condensed to one concept – positive actions trump the trolls! Have a great Sunday…anyway!

Most of it was written by Mother Teresa. (No top dogs line in hers) The final stanza she wrote says “You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God: it was never between you and them anyway.” Original title “Advice for Living Well” (or at least that’s what the copy on my office wall says)
