Profiles: Kevin Kubota
Lots of people can be outstanding photographers. Lots of people can teach photography, work flow, technique and marketing, but how many can actually design and create tools to helps us all be more creative, while at the same time maintain a solid focus on humanity? Kevin continues to do it all. Nobody could have been prouder then me when I helped select Kevin Kubota for the Monte Zucker Humanitarian Award at WPPI ‘09 for his work in Rwanda. Kevin walks the talk and whether you can attend his program at Skip’s Summer School in August or not, you should absolutely be following his “adventures”.
Kevin Kubota: The name Kubota has become so strong in the world of plug-ins, digital boot camp and technology that newer photographers may not even realize Kevin is one of the finest photographers in our industry and certainly one of the most dynamic teachers. From weddings to exquisite scenics and back to just about everything in between, Kevin is a testimonial to the fact that every now and then you meet somebody who really can do it all!
Kevin will share ideas on how to keep yourself motivated and avoid slipping into the business rut! It’s about constantly testing your creativity and keeping your portfolio fresh with images from special projects – projects that keep you focused on your skill set as a photographer and a human being, not a business manager. You’ve got to have skills in everything, but Kevin’s creativity is his trademark and his passion for projects has become legendary.
Want to learn more about Kevin? First check out Kubota Image Tools. Then get yourself set up to read his blog on a regular basis! You’ll also find him on Facebook. Last but not least, check out his personal website, the one a bride would typically visit – the images are stunning! And don’t forget to follow him on Twitter!
This year at WPPI Kevin kicked off Photographer’s Ignite. Take the time to watch the following video – it’s not only fun, but it’s guaranteed to get you thinking!
Tomorrow let’s check out the Queen of Lighting, Bobbi Lane! I even found a great little video!
