What Is It?

I get some very funny emails from friends on a pretty regular basis, this one from yesterday really hit home. The image is from 1956. Give up on what it is?
It’s a hard disk drive with 5MB of storage and it weighed over a ton! Now think about the 32 GB of storage in your iPhone! Kind of leaves you wondering what we’ll be laughing about in another 20 years!

omg. My first computer I got in 1993, it was Apple powermac with 250MB of hard drive space. The salesman told me that is plenty of space – more than I will ever need! lol.

I hate to think it, but it’s very likely in 20 years people will be looking at photos of the miles of film Kodak use to produce (and we shot) and be laughing at such primitive technology. I’m sure future generations will be wondering “How did they ever survive with just 36 images available at a time??”
Also likely, people will be looking at our DSLR cameras and pity us for “only” being able to record images with such a big, heavy machine.
